Psalm 8:3-8

When I consider Your heavens,
 the work of Your fingers,
 the moon and the stars,
which You have set in place,
what is man that You are mindful of him,
the son of man that You care for him?

You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings
and crowned him with glory and honor.
You made him ruler over the works of Your hands;
You put everything under his feet:
all flocks and herds, and the beasts of the field,
the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.

O LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is Your name in all the earth!
When I Consider
Words & Music by Chuck Butler

When I consider the heavens
The work of Thy hands
When I consider Your love
Each morning there are mercies new
When I consider, when I consider
When I consider You

Several years ago, while attempting to come up with a domain name so that I could create email addresses for my family that didn't change every time we switched internet service providers, we were searching for something with biblical significance, something that had some meaning for us, and something that would be reasonably easy to give out to people. We finally settled on "Consider the heavens", based on Psalm 8, plus our familiarity with the song When I Consider by Chuck Butler, who was our pastor for several years, and whose band I had the privilege to play with for about a decade.

Somewhere in the mix, I ended up muffing the biblical connection slightly, using the lyric from the song as opposed to the phrase from the Psalm, without actually realizing it for a few years. And I'm not sure we exactly nailed the third goal - having to say it out slowly as "at ... Consider ... THE ... Heavens ... dot com" is sometimes a little tedious - but it's worked out OK for us lo these many years.

Except....

In all that time, despite a few futile, half-hearted attempts, I never actually created any kind of meaningful (or even meaningless) home page to serve the domain. So here's the latest stab at adding some actual content to display when someone visits ConsiderTheHeavens.com. It's not much, but hopefully it's a starting place from which bigger things can grow...
